The trail winds through the old town’s narrow streets, past ancient city walls and landmarks, before continuing along the coastline and into peaceful olive groves. As the route progresses through the lush Šotovento area, you pass historical sites, hidden coves and quiet countryside, ending the day near the picturesque Vela Jana Cove and the village of Brzac.
Stage 2: Brzac – Malinska
Day two of the Krk Island Trail covers approximately 23 km, taking you from Brzac to the vibrant coastal town of Malinska. This stage continues through the lush Šotovento region, combining peaceful forest trails, seaside paths and authentic island villages. Along the way, highlights include the historic Franciscan monastery in Glavotok, the Romanesque Church of St Chrysogonus overlooking the Čavlena Cove, and scenic viewpoints near Fumak. The route finishes in Malinska, offering a perfect blend of nature, history and local island charm.
Stage 3: Malinska – Omišalj
Day three of the Krk Island Trail covers around 19 km, guiding you from Malinska to the historic town of Omišalj in the north of the island. This scenic stage follows the coastline along the popular Paradise Trail. Highlights include the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Njivice, as well as important archaeological sites such as the Roman settlement of Fulfinum and the early Christian complex at Mirine. The route continues through forest paths and panoramic viewpoints before descending towards Omišalj, where you can explore cultural landmarks like the Church of St Helen and the Parish Church of the Assumption.
Stage 4: Omišalj – Čižići
Day four of the Krk Island Trail stretches approximately 21 km, leading from Omišalj to Čižići along the island’s northern coastline. Starting near Dubec Park, you pass scenic bays such as Večja and Lučica, the Krk Bridge viewpoint, and historic sites like the Venetian Maltempo Fort. Natural highlights include the rugged coastline of the Vinodol Channel, the sandy Slivanjska Cove, and the fascinating Biserujka Cave, known for its impressive stalactites and underground formations. Along the way, you encounter charming churches, traditional settlements, and the remains of abandoned villages hidden in the countryside. The journey continues via Risika back to the coast, leading to Vrbnik, one of the most iconic towns on Krk Island, perched on a dramatic cliff above the sea.
Stage 6: Vrbnik – Baška
