Embark on an unforgettable journey as we traverse the Adventure Gravel Route, connecting all the charming towns and municipalities of Gorski Kotar. This route showcases the region's beautiful nature, rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks. The mountains have a max altitude of 1534 m which means that the weather stays predictable and very nice to ride in.
Over the course of our adventure, you’ll ride tours ranging from 40 to 75 km a day, adding up to more than 345 km of unique gravel experiences. This scenic route winds through forest paths and accessible local roads, ideal for cyclists seeking an exhilarating getaway in nature.
Each day promises new discoveries: breathtaking landscapes, cultural treasures and the chance to indulge in local delicacies. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the Winnetou cowboy town, the Butterfly Valley, the Kupa River and much more.

For basic and advanced
We ride between 45 and 70 km a day.
We recommend the following cycling equipment:
- Gravel bike or Hardtail MTB
- E-bike definitely welcome
(20 - 40 km, 250 - 450 hm per day)
Lv 2 Jedi: Requires more fitness and solid bike handling skills. Terrain varies from gravel paths to moderate climbs of up to 800hm.
(35 - 65 km, 400 - 800 hm per day)
Lv 3 Jedi Master: Demands excellent fitness and bike control. Includes technical climbs, navigating obstacles and steep descents.
(40 - 75 km, 450 - 1000+ hm per day)

Delnice to Severin na Kupi

Historic route: Start on Karolina Road, the oldest road in Croatia, connecting the hinterland with the sea, and pass through an area famous for its gastronomy.

Picturesque villages: Ride through charming villages like Ravna Gora and Skrad, once frequented only by brave hikers, but now popular with nature enthusiasts.

Dobra to Kupa River: Continue from Skrad, cycling along the left bank of the Dobra River, enjoying orchards and the valley's natural beauty.

Scenic finale: Conclude your ride at the Kupa River, where you can admire the historic Zrinski and Frankopan Castle.

Highlights: Fast rolling gravel roads, fast-paced trails, picturesque forest views.
Day 3
Severin na Kupi to Tršće

Cycling adventure start: Begin your journey from Severin na Kupi to Brod na Kupi, two villages that share the name of the Kupa River.

Breathtaking views: Experience the exhilarating climb to Orlova Stijena (Eagle Rock) for stunning views over the Kupa River.

Butterfly Valley: Cycle upstream from Brod na Kupi to Tršće through the Kupa Valley, also referred to as the Butterfly Valley, known for its rich biodiversity.

Wildlife encounters: Keep an eye out for local wildlife: deer, squirrels, woodpeckers, lynxes...

Highlights: Winding gravel roads, wildlife spotting, scenic climbs.
Day 4
Tršće to Fužine

Highest section: Cycle from Tršće to Crni Lug, the highest section of the trail, through the most densely forested regions of Gorski Kotar.

Scenic viewpoints: Discover unique bike-accessible viewpoints and experience the authentic atmosphere of Gorski Kotar's forests where hunting lodges dot the trails.

Gorski Kotar Lakes: Pedal from Crni Lug to Fužine, through a section named "Gorski Kotar Lakes", where you'll pass by the lakes of Mrzlica and Lokvarsko, and continue on to the waters of the Lepenica and Bajer Lake.

Highlights: High-speed gravel descents, beautiful lake views, challenging rock sections.
Day 5
Fužine to Delnice

Overview: The Fužine to Delnice route offers a scenic gravel ride with a passage through the old Winnetou cowboy town.

Terrain: Start with a relaxing loop around Lake Bajer before tackling steep climbs and technical descents, suitable for all skill levels.

Delnice to Rijeka

Practical
What do you need
- Gravel bike

How do you get here
Flight to Pula + Arriva Bus to Delnice.
Pick up and drop off service at Rijeka airport: surcharge of €60.
Payment terms
The remaining amount must be paid at least 30 days before arrival.
For a booking within 30 days before arrival, the full amount must be paid immediately.
